Anthony Daniel named Managing Director for ANZ at WatchGuard

Yesterday

Anthony Daniel has been promoted to Managing Director for Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands at WatchGuard Technologies.

Anthony Daniel's appointment follows a period of sustained double-digit growth for WatchGuard Technologies in the region since he joined the company in 2021. He previously served as Regional Director and has played a major role in scaling regional sales growth and expanding business operations during his tenure.

In his new capacity, Daniel will continue to oversee the company's strategy around partner development, channel and distribution, and revenue growth across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. The focus will remain on deepening engagement with managed service providers (MSPs), advancing channel strategies, and facilitating access to WatchGuard's integrated cybersecurity platform.

This promotion comes as WatchGuard Technologies records an uptick in MSP partnerships within the region, a trend underpinned by its unified cybersecurity platform and a channel programme designed to reward both revenue achievement and ongoing skills development. The company asserts that its approach to technical enablement seeks to reinforce security outcomes for MSPs operating at various levels of scale.

The firm has also developed its portfolio on a global scale through recent acquisitions of CyGlass and ActZero. The acquisition of CyGlass has brought advanced network detection and response (NDR) capabilities into WatchGuard's offerings, while ActZero has added to its managed detection and response (MDR) services.

WatchGuard Technologies has highlighted plans to maintain its local and international momentum by enhancing its presence and boosting engagement with partners. The company aims to offer features and support that address the needs of MSPs while focusing on supporting their business growth through its integrated and scalable security solutions.

Anthony Daniel said regarding his promotion, "I'm honoured to step into this role, and my focus remains consistent — working closely with our partners to deliver security that's precise, adaptable, and truly supportive. As the ANZ business grows, staying connected to our MSP community and ensuring our solutions deliver real value remains a top priority."

Sylvain Lejeune, Vice President of Sales – Asia Pacific & Japan at WatchGuard, commented, "Across the APJ region, we've seen strong and consistent growth driven by the success of our channel-first strategy, and the ANZ region has been a standout performer under the leadership of Anthony Daniel. We have deepened relationships with our partners and continued to deliver innovative, unified cybersecurity solutions. As we look to the future, we remain fully committed to supporting our channel community by expanding our local presence, investing in partner enablement, and delivering the resources and solutions they need to protect customers and grow their businesses."

WatchGuard Technologies' channel programme is structured not only around commercial considerations, but also emphasises the importance of technical knowledge and practical enablement for its partners. The company believes this approach reinforces effective security outcomes for all MSPs in their network.
